Torrid Zone

Writers Island prompt: Torrid

Torrid Zone: the region of the earth between the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn...

somewhere
south of Cancer

mountain peaks rise to
greet the snow, patronise
chamois deserts where
tiny drops of water
vanish in nanoseconds

rainbows stretch
from crystal caverns
through chaos of the dark
hide from sabre makers
of the forceful Sith

somewhere
north of Capricorn

Excellent. I love how you structured it, too.

That was beautiful! Torrid just didn't inspire me, so I only wrote for SS and not for WI this week.

Beautifully put.......

You put things so......well.
They gell and flow....

You are one reason I restarted taking up writing again.

What an unusual take on "torrid" !!!

Your line of thought is as unique as your way with words !!

Loved the imagery, esplly:
"rainbows stretch
from crystal caverns"

instantly sketched out stalagmites and stalactites .. very beautiful!

P.S. "Torrid" set me off on two very tangential directions .. one sombre and the other... :)

Do look up the other one too !

Like the new take on Torrid, after reading many, many poems about love/lust/desire/emotion. :) Sweeet!

I love the contrast you've got here, and the way this is structured, too. The visuals are strong; chamois desert. Nice!

I could see this landscape, wow!
I love the way you paint with words.
Thank you.
Happy National Poetry Month!
May your snows melt soon!

Oh that spot where the two meet - love the contrast - you fully captured the images in words. Our minds you brought to that spot.

The power of words!

I wish you well.
