Gray Day Doodle

The Fire, a few lines, a touch of shading and the gray sky turns to spring. Well, maybe not, but...the robins are finding thawed worms and I slept long enough this morning to miss the early bird rush and settled for a round of Angry Birds and a doodle.

Medusa for Magpie Tales #204

Tess Kincaid of Magpie Tales offers a photo prompt each week. Visit her site to see the one which inspired this piece and to read what others wrote.

thin as knucklebones
where crows cross the blood
a shadow doppelganger
holds like ball and chain
the key just out of reach
medusa makes a switch
tips uplifted, sections taut
waits on fleshy velvet
beauty never knew its fate

Dystopia for ABC Wednesday

George Orwell's 1984 was the last book I read about a dystopian world which is loosely defined by Wikipedia as a form of utopia but with drawbacks.

Hunger Games is now drawing many readers and there appears to be a resurgence of interest in Dystopia. I succumbed to it by downloading Clint Stoker's The Cause to read on the Kindle Fire. I haven't turned the first page but I'm anxious to get started.

Are you a fan of dystopian novels?
