Welcoming

**

gray sky low
snow falls ankle deep
flash of sun

**

corn chowder
tang of poblano
soup welcomes

**

scent of baking bread
laughter, chatter, hugs around
welcomes family

**
return trip
smooth flowing traffic
dry highway

A story about welcome reunions and goodbyes. I could nearly taste that corn chowder. Really lovely images.

First thing, I am going to try poblanos in my chowder. Sounds good.
Now your poems-

What a lovely journey--and good, wholesome food at the heart of the welcome.

Wonderful warm series - and now I'm hungry! Don't know what a poblano is, so must detour to the dictionary, too.

Some of those set me up perfectly for a bit of supper. I will try to do them suitable justice :-)

A threatening day ends up being a nice day. Too bad the last senryu has to bring us back from frolic into our humanity of highways with traffic. Did you want to stay?
Your water color is nice as well, very green today.

This is beautiful. I love the corn and poblano ... and I can see the windows steamed up even though you didn't even mention them. This really is magic.

Grey sky low, hint of sun
Warmth of kin
Clear sailing home. Hearts full.

Wonderful progression of sensual images. Could taste the dusky poblano . smell the yeasty dough.
hear the tinkle of friendly chatter.

Also, thank you so much for kindly visiting my poetry site. It is much appreciated, and as a return, I'm doing the same! :) Have a blessed day.
