Small dots, or points, of color are the basis for this type painting. The late 1800's saw the emergence of
pointillism and it is still produced by very dedicated painters.
Too difficult for me, I instead chose my Bamboo Fun Tablet to paint these geraniums behind a fence and in front of a plaster wall for the basic image and follow it up with a filter applied in Adobe Photoshop Elements.
That's the easiest way to produce a painting of this overly-detailed style. A friend of mine, years ago, actually painted a pointillism scene. It took about half of her life to complete. Sadly, she didn't like it after she'd finished.
Thanks,
Skittles, for the prompt of 'point' on
Heads or Tails Meme. Hope you had a fun vacation and are in fine fettle for the coming spring.
I'd like to take this chance to wish
Rick a very Happy Birthday!
And Happy St. Patrick's Day!
