3WW Poem and Photo

3WW Prompt for this day: care, unexpected, weekend.

an unexpected squall
stormed from the south
screamed past local dopplers
brought ice to our weekend

sassy plovers chilled
feathers flipped forward
exposed goose-bumped skin

crows, too mean to care,
cawed harsh ridicule
before wintry weather retreated
leaving Sunday far behind

Digital Photo. I like this photo but don't know why.

My favorite line is "sassy plovers chilled" ... they are sassy, aren't they. lol
Really evocative as always. Sharp word-crafting.

crows, too mean to care,

They are kind of evil, aren't they?? Nicely done.

Poor birds. They never saw it coming. Except the crows. I have no empathy for those moody bastards.

Lovely poem!

You've always have such a unique way of using words especially words I rarely heard of. But that's probably me as I still need to learn.

Great poem.

I like how you personified the crows :)

Seems a lot of people were inspired by the weather this week.

Excellent use of that prompt! I especially liked this:

"crows, too mean to care,
cawed harsh ridicule"

I loved this poem especially the second stanza. With all this talk of crows it reminds me of my youth. My mammaw and pappaw had a pet crow once. Everytime my mom would come up to their house it could see through the sheer curtains from his room. Perched upon the dresser top he would say "Oh No! Here comes that Rose again." My pappaw taught him to say that. He could say other things too but,I don't remember them now. Just thought you might like to hear that. Keep up the good work.

Have a nice day.
