Lava lights are making a comeback or maybe they never left. Do you have one?
Never did I think about making one but the directions are linked for you brave adventurers:

Soap Lake, WA was gifted by Target with the large lava lamp which was being dismantled in Times Square. http://www.giantlavalamp.com After much excitement and fund raising, the initial push fell through. Now there are new plans: http://www.thenewstribune.com/2011/04/03/v-lite/1611260/new-plans-for-massive-lava-lamp.html
Since Soap Lake is much closer than Times Square, I'm hoping this comes together - I know I'd love this lava lamp. Wouldn't you?

I never had one, but I've seen them.
Oh yes, Soap Lake is even close to us, - I would love to make a trip to see a Lava Lamp.
Amazing, beautiful lava lamp! And what a great post for the L Day! I've never had one either, but would like to one day! Have a wonderful week!

Hehe! My sister-in-law still has one. :)
My parents had one when I was a child. It was more interesting than the TV...we called it the 'blob lamp'.

Remember them well but did not have one. That must be the largest one in the world :)

A giant lava lamp, now that is something. I remember them the first time round, very popular.
I think it is prettier outside than indoors.
Beautiful and LOVELY choice for L.
Please come and see the Lamborghini at my page.
I never had a lava lamp because I found them mesmerizing and distracting. The photo is quite cool and I may pass on your lava lamp directions.
Thanks,

I have a miniature lava lamp-about 3" tall. I LOVE lava lamps and I would love to have that LARGE lava lamp in my town in spite of the controversy it might cause!
That looks interesting! I've never seen one, but I should like to do so.
I wonder how they do in unstable weather. Seems it would be difficult. Interesting, nevertheless. Thanks for the directions! Sounds like a good science experiment for the not so little one. Miss ya
Wow it's new for me!Very interesting and beautiful!

I remember the Lava Lamp. I had one back in the 70s, it was aqua-blue. However, it went to the Lava Lamp Grave Yard years ago. ; )
We bought a lava lamp for our daughter when she was into her hippie phase, around 11. Unfortunately, it broke - and the whole room smelled like ammonia for hours!
Even so, I'd own another one in a heartbeat. In fact, there is a head shop downtown...! Thanks for the reminder. Took me back.

I've never had one, but they are fascinating to watch
Ha! I sold not one, but TWO of them in a garage sale a few years ago! My kids loved them as teenagers. This one would certainly be a site to see.
Love that idea of having a large Lava
Lamp. I like the lighthouse comparison, but then I'm partial to lighthouses.
Lava lamps are like campfires to me. Mesmerize so as to contemplate and to zen out. Maybe I should get one. :-)
That's a huge lava lamp. I've never had one. Great idea for L.
Oh, that's gonna be SO COOL!!
I have two of those things.
Now that really is a landmark - how wonderful!
My three older grandchildren have lava lamps. I think they can get quite hot - the lamps, not the children;-)
great lava lamp =)
