Odyssey Brief

Today's 3 Word Wednesday prompt contains the following words: apology, distant, consider. As always, Bone does a great job of choosing words which stimulate the muse. Visit the site to see how others responded to this prompt!

when his apology,
emotionally distant,
arrives at your door
in the guise of a horse
...consider its source

Well done!!! I love the brevity -- you said it all so well in so few words..and I think Paisley is on the right track too!! :)

I was thinking along Paisley's lines, too. Nothing worse than an emotionally distant apology! Interesting fractal, Susan.

I think paisley did get it! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, except if he's offering a cold "sorry". As usual, you are witty and charming in a few spare lines.

Paisley beat us all to the punch with the perfect line!!!!

HA!!!! Perfect!

I agree! When the apology comes from a distant formal source, I would tell it to "be gone!" and then I'd go on about my day with attention to the important things!

Sue,
That doggone paisley stole everybody's thunder. ;)
Distant apolgy, a dicotomy in terms I think.
You always seem to see things so clearly, and then translate it so the rest of us can understand.

great use of the prompt. I love the emotionally distant apology. The painting was very demonic and ominous.

Wow...

This is one of the best poems I've read in a long time.

O.k. I thought I was laughing when I hit the link to post a comment, but paisley sent me into hysterics. Nicely done lymerick. Bravo!

Distant apology is better than none at all. I might consider accepting it.

Okay. That was concise, and full of surprise. Two of my favorite things. Great poem...
