when his apology,
emotionally distant,

Well done!!! I love the brevity -- you said it all so well in so few words..and I think Paisley is on the right track too!! :)
I was thinking along Paisley's lines, too. Nothing worse than an emotionally distant apology! Interesting fractal, Susan.
I think paisley did get it! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, except if he's offering a cold "sorry". As usual, you are witty and charming in a few spare lines.
Paisley beat us all to the punch with the perfect line!!!!
HA!!!! Perfect!
I agree! When the apology comes from a distant formal source, I would tell it to "be gone!" and then I'd go on about my day with attention to the important things!
That is wonderful. I stand in awe of your work.
Thanks for your suppor of One Single Impression.
Haha hilarious and sage advice my friend!!! Wonderful!
Hugs Sherrie
Sue,
That doggone paisley stole everybody's thunder. ;)
Distant apolgy, a dicotomy in terms I think.
You always seem to see things so clearly, and then translate it so the rest of us can understand.

unfortunately that would be me, i am terrible at apologies.
great use of the prompt. I love the emotionally distant apology. The painting was very demonic and ominous.
Wow...
This is one of the best poems I've read in a long time.
O.k. I thought I was laughing when I hit the link to post a comment, but paisley sent me into hysterics. Nicely done lymerick. Bravo!
Short, sweet, and to the point. I loved it!
Well said.
but then why would the sorry be said at all....?
Wise words excellently put.
great post...a good belly laugh..i think that will stick with me the next time i open the door to an empty apology...
Short, concise and brilliant!
This was so eloquently written with percision, punch and wisdom. I loved it and yes, paisley is brilliant too!
Distant apology is better than none at all. I might consider accepting it.

Okay. That was concise, and full of surprise. Two of my favorite things. Great poem...
