Thanks, Tess Kincaid, for the image prompt!
Puddle, 1952, M. C. Escher
Kabuki
Cedar saplingsprecise as tinkers toys
stretch from root strings
toward denim-tinted sky.
Satellites skip cracks of time
track in and out
compound chaos of the stars
light the way for nacred moons.
The chamber of tomorrow
waits on a groove of air
where stairs like Escher's
carry all that disappears.

Such beautiful words, images... and congratulations on your novel!
nice allusion to eschers other work there in the end...that middle stanza is so cool...and i like the tinkertoys ref too...they do look like that..
Oh yes, this is a strong write. I like the allusion to escher, as well.
I especially like "where stairs like Escher's carry all that disappears"...
I like the tinker toy idea! good one-

I love the play of the illusions in your poem, under the moon and the stars. Your images dance so beautifully. Thank you for sharing this illusive write, Tumblewords and congratulations on your novel!! =D
Wonderful! I especially liked this: "The chamber of tomorrow
waits on a groove of air"

'Nacred moon' - lovely!
Indeed, you've shown us what Escher can do...I kept looking at the image while reading the poem...excellent!
When I look up at the moon tonight, I will think of the glow as 'mother of pearl-like' ... lovely poem, lovely form.
I love the title... the photo does have a japanese flavor to it.
Simply Beautiful!!!
The first two stanzas are great, the third is just straight-ace brilliant.
Wonderful...love the tinkertoys and nacred moon, and the reference to Escher. Perfect.
Congratulations on your novel, too!
I particularly like 'denim tinted sky'.What a wonderful description.
Ooh, there are a couple of images in this I just love -- the tinker toys, for one -- and particularly liked the last stanza. Nice.
