Hull for Sunday Whirl #58

Strong words in this Sunday Whirl Wordle #58 - Thank you!

Hull

where barnacles clung
in heart-to-heart hugs
and flinty scrapers
tongued them free

no chalk marks circled
those blurred cocoons
burnished from a dusty past
she checks her brittle hull

Excellent use of the wordle in a multileveled poem. Concise, spare and yet fully expressive. Well done.

Tumblewords, I love what you say under your gravatar photograph. I'm not sure I remember reading it before.
I agree with Traci, that there is a lot that can be taken from this poem despite its brevity.

I love the way this flows and the way the words sound together. I went back and read it a number of times just to enjoy the sound and cadence.

Her brittle hull... ouch...lol
Very concise but very effective use of the words

I agree. There were some strong words in this list. But think that often just makes us work a bit harder. Your piece is concise, but loses none of the strength of those words. Great portrait.

All the various levels in this poem are wonderful. Of course the one that jumps out at me is the literal image of barnacles on a weathered hull. Great stuff.
