G for ABC Wednesday

A gracious geranium hosts a hyper hummer who'd been sipping sugary nectar from the feeder before spying the real thing.

The picture is a little blurry (okay, it might be a lot blurry) because these little guys move far faster than my camera. She grazed my ear as she gallivanted from one end of the deck to the other.

A chance to catch her in a still shot came soon after this when she flew up to examine a fly strip. Glad she didn't get glued to that, although it would have been an easier photo capture.

Is your shutter speed as fast as the general hummingbird?

Oh. Again. Uploaded pictures disappear. I'll be working on this. Maybe Blogger will be, too!

Would love to see the picture too. Hummingbird is hard to photograph with unless you have a high resolution camera.

God's Marvelous Gift. Have a great day!

Yup, no picture here either.
I really wanted to see that little hummer.

My computer obviously isn't as fast as your shutter speed, because I can't see the hummingbird, or any other part of your picture.
Enjoyed reading about it, however.

No picture for me either! Clever little birds, the only birds able to fly backwards.

Oh dear! I cannot see your photo. But I did try to photograph a hummingbird today and the photo was horrible.

I too was unable to see the picture, but loved the prose!

She's gone out of sight for the time being ~ must have been galvanised after all that nectar and is now flying at great speed :)

Wonderful picture.... I'm enjoying two hummingbirds in my back yard on a daily basis. I need to get my camera ready.

The photo might be blurry, but it reminds me of artwork done in pointilism style. I haven't had the chance to photograph a hummingbird, I'd really love to (and I think my camera would be fast enough).

Beautiful little birds - we have nothing like them in UK, sadly.

Hummingbirds are very difficult to take pictures of. They are so fast. You were so lucky to see one in your
garden. My shutter speed is very slow, I am afraid.

Great post for G day. I also didn't see the hummer but I can guess because they are too fast for me most of the time too.

I think my camera speed would have just managed the flower. How wonderful to have hummingbirds outside your window.

Gosh! You're lucky you got any image at all, they're so fast! Lovely attempt and thanks from dropping by. Have a great week,

How thrilling that you got an ear graze out of it.

I would love to see a hummingbird in real life. We don't get them in Australia and I love them. They are such captivating, delicate creatures. How fortunate you are to have them in your garden!
