K for ABC Wednesday

ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 5: K is for.....

Well, wouldn't you know.

This bright little flower captured a spot in a patio crack and looked so appealing, I decided it should stay.

According to my best research I recently (yesterday) learned that it might be a Krigia dandelion.

I'll wait to be corrected by those who know plants and don't give their heart away to any weed just because it sports a cheerfully spunky blossom and requires no upkeep.

Anyone?

I wouldn't know about the name, I am just wondering where the stem has gone!

Well, I don't know what it's name is, but it is a cheerful looking little bugger and we always use one of those!!

Have a great day!

Well, I can definitely tell you it's a flower and it's yellow.
As you can guess, I'm no gardener.

They are spunky flowers/weeds, arent they?

Hope all is well Sue. Hugs, G

Well it works for me anyway....I didn't know that dandelions had special names. Great way to use the letter k.

Glad you decided it should stay
for it would bring a sunshine joy
every day.

LOL... I would gladly give my heart to a weed if it gladdened my day! Of course once I learned it was a weed, I'd probably have to pull it out... you know, by the roots...

:)

(I've got a new bloggie... changes are afoot!)

Dandelions get such a bad rap but, really, they are so bright and cheerful. They should be honored like yours!

Well, a dandelion by any other name would be as cheerful and sunny as your Krigia. I see the odd perky dandelion out these days, but haven't stop to ask their name....

I don't know the name, but Krigia works well for K. It's a beautiful flower, whatever its name.

We don't have Krigia dandelion in Europe, so I can only applaud its beauty. Thank you for sharing!

It's a dandelion alright, and it looks like a Krigia dandelion.
The photo is brilliant.

I love how Krigia is wearing her hair. There's something so magical about dandelion curls!

Dandelion, one man's weed is another man's salad! Lovely yellow blossom, perfectly captured.

I've never heard of this before, Sue, but I happened to have my handy wildflower book next to the computer. Sure enough, there is a Krigia dandelion; not only that, but there are three different species! Yours looks very much like the bloom in the picture. I don't pull out anything that looks pretty and grows up on its own, unless someone tells me it's an invasive weed:)

It's very hard to identify these 'dandelion' flowers without the leaves and a view of the whole plant, so I'm going with your Krigia! It's charming, anyway. :)

So many blossoms look like this. It's the leaves and stems that help in identification. Petty blossom. I'm glad you let it stay.

Well, I see we found out it is a krigia..weed or not it's very pretty. BTW, thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for visiting my post about The King. When along the side of the road, a field of dandelions can be really beautiful. I like the colours in your shot. - Margy
