Chrysalis for Sunday Scribblings

a chrysalis waits
on a separate page
rusty keys tap errata
uncommon strokes
rewriting the old bones

hints from fools' gold
fall upon a novel quill
rites of charcoal gray
spinning leaves of truth
spell out the seller's word

detached headings
rise over sundry tales
provide a crafty outline
for the living even as
she plans the grand finale

Thanks to Sunday Scribblings for the prompt: Dear Past Me, Dear Future Me

The image is a drawing produced on Bamboo Fun using Adobe Photoshop Elements 5, edited in Irfanview.

I love the way you've interwoven the written and the natural into a lyrical whole.

Deep thoughts indeed. Life as a story - a narrative, written by ourselves.

I liked the poem because it is a great way to look at life and how it does change.

I bet you pack a fine suitcase, T! The seams of this good idea are popping with stunning word choices that are themselves bursting with meaning. A writer’s life, writing her own life, is what I came away all happy with. Any way one could take it, it’s exceptional!
