If Only

If only I had time

a trip to the sun
skip a relay to the moon
map three nebulae

If only I had time

soak up words of pith
become one with the wisdom
desiderata

If only I had time

The prompt was posted on One Single Impression and presented by Gemma of Greyscale Territory.

The image is a combination of digitally altered fractal and photo.

Well, I don't know if I want a trip to the sun, being it's so hot .. but I would love to "map three nebulae"

There should always be time for happiness ... or learning how to achieve it.

A very thought provoking piece.

And the irony is, due to relativity theory, if you could do it at the speed of light, it would take as long.

How nice, I always enjoy celestial plans like those :)
Surely, you will find some time to make them come true, huh?

The illustration brought so many things up at once.
The sun fighting it's way through the darkness.
A creative thought trying to fight it's way to the forefront of the mind.
As usual it goes perfectly with your words.
Your words don't tumble my dear they dance.

Every week, I read your work and say "yeah." I sense some ironic joy in these lines, as if the time has indeed been found and the journey made.

This would be a grand tour indeed. Love how you incorporated the linke here. Too bad that can't be done on the printed page as well. Enjoyed this!

Thanks for leaving a comment for me. Isn't word play fun? And I love creating just the right pairing with an image.

Just ignore me, just fractiously scatalogical this late winter evening.

(I was embarrassed for smiling at soak up words of pith)

Apparently there is no culture or high-minded thought in the kitehorse stall tonight.

I must confess I had no idea what you wanted to do here but I got the joy you would find. I'm off to look it up. :)

Loved the fractal!

I have all the time right now and I want more. There is never enough time to write enough.

I'm sure my writing suffers from writing too much.

In those two words is encapsulated the tragedy of humanity: if only.

Your words remind me that there is no time like the present.

Whether in space or anyplace...this poem refreshes my desire to have the time to enjoy it all.

A list of things you can never do regardless of time. And you have most of the bases covered.
I might argue that soaking 'up words of pith' is a terrible waste of time. I feel this is comparable to spending hours trying to strain orange peel pith for a few dabs of vitamin C when have seventeen other oranges which soon will be rotting away. I.e, stop that and you would have time for more of other items.
Of course your goals here are all unreachable but are good for dreaming. My dreams include going to the South Pole (still on my list but fading) and Australia.
Note these are 'going' goals. I have done everything else in life that I feel I needed to do. Also I have or have had all the 'things' in life that I will ever need.

Anyway, a great dreamer poem for haiku. Thank you.

desiderata is easy to embrace, harder to live for sure.
