Cinquain

November
small flakes
swirl in the air
find their footing and build
maples freeze and collapse in shards
...think spring

December
snow comes
solstice follows
buried streets, autumn's south
cabin fever strikes in the dark
long nights

January
ranch bound
indifferent
jobless now, far too late
gold plinth welcomes a new leader
change comes

Migraine
cinquain
unrhymed, unsung
twenty-two syllables
five lines and a title will do
head throbs

Oh these are all so fun! I was trying to decide which one I like best, but I can't, I love them all. Creating one Cinquain can cause a migraine, never mind four. Great job, and Happy New Year!

Hope the headache has passed by now as your cinquain chain and lovely wintry image brought much pleasure to me this evening. I'm glad we've encountered one another in this virtual world. Happy New Year friend.

I like the humor in the migraine poem. There has to be some humor in the darn things!

All of these are interesting, lots of nice word play, and the images in November and December are crisp and cold and fit so well. But the January poem is the most intriguing -- are we perhaps speaking of a certain Texan?

Poetry for me is an illusive thing. My words have meaning for me but would fly away with no meaning for another You, on the other hand, write wonderful words that turn around in my brain.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. It is much appreciated.

Sounds like you share my opinion of January.

enjoyed all of these. (I'm not versed (no pun intended) in this form of poetry although I have heard of it.
Nice art, Sue!

Your verse for Dec. caught me up in the moment... the whole thing about cabin fever striking in the dark is right on. I adore that painting. And, I'm sorry about the migraine...
