Haiku for Friday

Haiku Friday: A Surreal Experience

cuddled by the dusk of night

Friday 5

Michelle at Poefusion's Friday 5 offers the following prompt words: aluminum foil, skunk, salt, brittle and Polaroid. These make a story of their own. Feel free to read what others have written and to write your own!

brown streaks of tri tip
clung to the aluminum foil
crumpled and cooling on the deck,
the cagey skunk guarded his prize
while she flung salt on stains
and sprinkled tomato juice
on the whining beagle,
her humor gone brittle
she reached for the Polaroid
to picture proof for the guests
soon to arrive for the cookout

Saturday Night Square

Totally Optional Prompts asks: what sort of inspiration did we find this week? In mythology, or elsewhere?

Tattered hair haloes
an age-pocked head
tendons lie loose
on thin-skinned hands,
his whitewashed eyes
haunt a giggle of girls
wearing faux immortality
flaunting tight skin
with come-on strolls

and

overhead

Orion, pinned to the night
like an errant butterfly,
hunts lovelies of the Pleaides.

Haiku and Fib for 3 WW

Bone, the moderator for 3 Word Wednesday says: Each week, I post some words. People write things using the words. Then they comment here. And, indeed, that's what happens. This week, the words are Remember, Theatre, Funny. Come play along!

the Ford Theatre
staged a not so funny play
remember that day?

who remembers
the summer of funny skits
Playhouse Theatre

who
could
not like
black and white
funny theatre
maybe those who don't remember
