Michelle at Poefusion Friday 5 offers the prompt words: gasoline, ceiling, hemisphere, avocado, brick.
brick, wood and stone
and tented canvas ceiling
avocados from the grove
tomatoes fresh off the vine
latte stalls, elephant ears
artists sketching by request
right-brain hemisphere
buzzes with creativity
from the distant corner
gasoline generators hum
Totally Optional Prompts for today: Regional Poetry
cuddled by rising forests
the valley floor,
criss-crossed by streams
stippled by glacial lakes,
yields to look-at-me roofs
contrived basalt cascades
ancient pines stockpiled
on Italian marble hearths
panes flash from naked hills
while the moon looks away

Writers Island prompt: Torrid
Torrid Zone: the region of the earth between the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn...
somewhere
south of Cancer
mountain peaks rise to
greet the snow, patronise
chamois deserts where
tiny drops of water
vanish in nanoseconds
rainbows stretch
from crystal caverns
through chaos of the dark
hide from sabre makers
of the forceful Sith
somewhere
north of Capricorn
