a tiny space
a place to hang a hat
or to peg a pace
bereft of light
double dark as night
relentless with twitch
til her mind takes flight
rejects the bland
she coasts far out of head
relentless and free
til time brings her back
to her small place
the space to hang her hat

Very nice, Susan. Your poem expresses a lot of comfort. I am so happy to see you at the whirl on a Sunday. I usually get so busy during the week, I rarely have time to visit anyone.

We all need a space to hang our hat.
Sometimes the most important things in life are the simplest--like a place to hang our hat.

Made me giggle - it took years for me to get my hubby to put up a little coat rack by the door - and while our boys were home there was almost never any room for my things.
I've two offerings this week. Story and non-story that you can get to via Mr. Linky at the Whirl.
Cheers.
