Y for ABC Wednesday

If you live in the land of ice and snow, yaktrax are unbeatable. They slip onto your shoes to keep your shoes from slipping on ice and snow.

There's a little incline at the end of my driveway just before the mailbox and it's kinda like a snow resort's bunny slope. Once I get started, there's just no stopping. These things have saved my story more than once, I'm sure.

How about you? Are you prone to slippage and slidage?

We don't have snow at my house but I'm sure this gizzmo would save my "story" too.
Be careful we want to see more of your posts in 2012.

I could use them for my path. A slight incline then 4 steps to go out the garden.

If I lived in an area where there was ice and snow, I'd definitely get a pair of these. However, we have a very mild climate and if it ever does snow (rarely) I'm just very careful and wear my good boots that have great traction on the soles. Happy New Year!

Yes! Prone indeed! My husband had to set up a show that took place on ice-torture! He was told that the best way to save yourself from falling (while lugging heavy equipment) was to shuffle. The Yaktraks would've come in handy.

Never seen one of those.

well that is something I've never even heard of - of course here we get heavy snow about four or five weeks a year and everything grinds to a halt because we are so unprepared.

I've never seen them before, however, I've never looked for them before either. They sound like lifesavers to me.

This is a great invention! I remember one winter when the streets were so slippery that people wore socks over their shoes and it took me half an hour to cross the street and go to my school where I had to teach. Normally it took me 3 minutes.
So be careful!

I slip and slide on mud more often than ice and snow - these look good:-)

I've never seen these before but think they would be useful right now! :)

You could cetainly power down the street in these, however something waterproof would be better at the moment here.

Those are great. My daughter had some when she was in law school at the University of Iowa.

Oh, I love my yaktraks too! And, of course, the one time I chose not to wear them in the snow I fell and broke my hand!

I own a pair and they are wonderful.

Looks like a great idea Sue! I've always lived in the land of ice and snow and I have taken a few tumbles over the years. Not fun and hard to avoid all the time.

Hope your new year is off to a good start. My novel is going very well, my priority project right now.

If you or any of your readers are on Facebook can you help...
