Z for ABC Wednesday

Zabuton is a flattish Japanese cushion used for comfort while kneeling or sitting.

It's best to have one ready before you crawl under the patio table on hands and knees to insert the umbrella pole into its stand. Concrete is not conducive to knee health. I'm planning to be better prepared next time.

Do you keep a zabuton handy for those times when you're on your knees or when you must sit for a bit on hard surfaces?

New word on my vocab. We do use similar cushions, in India we call them Takiya.

I no longer crawl on anything if I can help it, but concrete particularly.
Congratulations on your novel, although I must admit to being puzzled about a book being available on iTunes.
Although considered an expert in some forms of computerized technology in the 70s, I am now becoming a technophobe, things change so fast.

What a great word. I could definitely use one of them. Kneeling on the old wood flooring on my deck isn't that great although perhaps not as hard on the knees as concrete.

thanks for the tip!I have a foam pad, but it not nearly as elegant as a (Japanese) cushion.

What a great word! A zabuton might be handy for quite a number of things, I think. :-)

Zabuton's sound great, - do they come with springs to zip you up when the knees lose their spring?

I desperately need one of those! Must keep an eye out.

A zabuton is a very important thing to have when working in the garden. Where can we buy them?

No, I don't have a zabuton but I'm thinking, "it rhymes with futon." You know I'm hoping to read one of your magical poems about the the --utons!

Coincidence. I've just watched a modern Japanese movie and the zabuton played an important part.
