Winged Buffet

day sank behind the crest
night aroused the moon
one lone bat
vagile in the dusky quiet
pitched out tiny peeps,
circled the creekside’s
willow formation
and even as I watched
braces of crepuscular bats
plural as if called by the Ark
emerged from hidings deep
gorged on the winged fare
offered on that generous night

Poefusion Prompt: crepuscular, vagile, formation, willow and plural.

This was beautiful. I loved the use of crepuscular here. And, the picture below seals it together as a nice package. Keep up the good work.

Have a nice day.

I like the idea of 'plural as if called by the Ark'. Neat image.

Wonderful, this is wonderful. I am glad I stumbled upon this new meme. Learnt the words and the different versions to use them too, played with it myself, but comes nowhere in comparison. You write so beautifully.

The poem moves well, especially the ending:

and even as I watched
braces of crepuscular bats
plural as if called by the Ark
emerged from hidings deep
gorged on the winged fare
offered on that generous night

rare to see a poem about bats! Cool!
