The hammock is so enticing to a weary traveler. Zap, he's caught and dragged off. Pretty much ditto for the second. I have come to realize that those spiders are bums, beggars, who work hard to get food without gainful effort. If they would get a job instead of building traps, ... Only deceit. Their web might as well be a 'will work for food' sign. :-) ..
I like the metaphors regarding food trap and catcher's mit. Both gainfully apply to the spider's web. I enjoyed your poetry along with the creative artwork.
The poem is great but I don't think I like the image of a food trap. LOL I like to think the webs spell out natures secrets. Well done. Your image almost looks like an abstract painting.

Both excellent but I really liked the first one.
Really great image, Sue and the verses are so succinct! Love it.
You know, I will always think of a catcher's mitt now, when I see a web, Sue.
A powerful thing, despite its delicate framework.
I adore your fractal. You have captured so well the combination of strength and fragility that makes a spiderweb. Your verses are wonderful!
These are jewels, but I love the "catcher's Mitt" as it is refreshingly unique when talking about a spider's web.
Food trap indeed! Makes me think, do we also fall into such traps!
I really enjoy your perceptions of webs.

..
Thought-provoking lines, slightly unusal and all the better for it.

Indeed a web can be compared to a catcher`s mitt and I smiled at the thoughts of it being a hammock.
What a way to rest and wait for lunch to be served:)
loved this image! and your two pems are great--I'm with Anthony--like the first bestest!
These are both very thought provoking, though right on the money. Love the fractal, too! Unusual angles on the prompt, I like that!
It's a really random thing to pick out, but "web" works so well as a verb... I like! And yeah, the fractal is pretty rockin'.
Those are good- I can just picture the spider laying in it's hammock waiting for lunch.
spiders definitely spin interesting food traps, don't they? your writing is strong and well written as usual.
