Xi (uppercase Ξ, lowercase ξ) is the 14th letter of the Greek alphabet.
Xi There are other meanings outlined on the linked Wikipedia page. I hadn't thought much about it until I began playing
You know that feeling? The search for something ~ anything ~ to use those last two tiles when you're already 30 points behind? I'm glad to learn this is more than just a two-letter word ~ it should be easier to remember but I'm beginning to wish I'd studied something besides Latin.
And that I played e-mail Scrabble with someone less talented than my oldest granddaughter who beats me soundly.
Two more valuables: xu and nu.

I know just what you mean about Scrabble. So I'll have to remember that little word! lol

Wish you a Happy New Year!
Have to second what Leslie has written! Wishing you a very Happy New Years!

My brother-in-law knows ALL the two- and three-letter SCRABBLE words; beats me EVERY time.
Ah, yes! How to use that X in Scrabble! One can only hope to turn the tide on your Scrabble score in one fell swoop of two letters!
How fun, that's a valuable word to tuck into my brain. Great post.
I wished that I had remembered that when last playing Scrabble. Somewhere we have a list of two lettered words which can come in handy in desperate times :) A great take on such a challenging letter.
Scrabble usually leaves me thinking of 4 letter words - but this is a good piece of info.
Ah, a marvellous game. I've played it often.
An x and a triple word score would be wonderful, but unlikely the way I play. There are lots of Greek words starting with X unfortunately those pesky tiles don't use the greek alphabet. Great inventive post.
Hmmm I will remember those two letters..sometimes it is hard to find the word when what you have is X and vowels. Happy New Year!

I always feel overwhelmed when I get the X in scrabble! I would love to play again soon! Happy New Year!
Well done!
I can see that you are a great boon to Scrabble players, - great choice for X!
Hmm. Reading your ABC Wednesday blog entry has given me the munchies-- in particular, I have a craving for Scrabble (<-- what our family calls Chex Party Mix)! What'd "Xi" I make us a batch?
I'll have to remember this word the next time I play Scrabble. If you have to lose to someone, losing to one's grandchild is the way to go--you must be very proud of her!
Haha! I played 'xi' only yesterday - and I often use 'nu' and 'mu'! I'm getting quite good at those little two-letter words!
I play on Facebook. It's about all I do on FB these days.
The X is one of the most difficult letters in scrabble, also in Dutch.
Thanks for the visit to my pub! Happy New Year!
Not played scarbble for years as wife used take half an hour to make a view and I just got bored waiting.
Thanks for the tip, I will remember them when I play next time.
Now, that was a great X!
Happy New Year!
Love Scrabble, haven't played in awhile. My mother always beats me, she does lots of crossword puzzles!
Thanks for stopping by!
You are an amazingly talented writer, Sue. Reading your blog is a joy. Happy New Year, peace and love.

P.S.- I doubt I'd beat you at Scrabble. :)
Very nice..I will have to remember this!
Happy New Year!
"X" is alot harder in Scrabble.
:) words scrabbled!
Oh well done! I'm sure I won't remember those little words until too late though.
I think I posted my comment but can't remember - post-Christmas brain syndrome! Well done on your Xcellent post - I doubt I'll remember those little words until it's too late though.
I've never thought of trying Wikipedia for words - I must remember that for the difficult ones in future!
Have a great 2010.
I'm not very good at scrabble-I'm sure you'd have me beat. Happy new Year!
I am a bad Scrabble player...But I will remember this tip as it might help me out as I am getting my behind kicked in the next Scrabble game...Michelle
