Space for Sunday Scribblings

These were the first words that came to mind when I read the Sunday Scribblings prompt: Out of this World

nebula - fractals - apophysis - the order of chaos - stepping stones - circling light - ephemeral belies rock solid underpinnings - magical - skybound rainbows - hidden by city lights - overshadowed - natural regeneration - mythical heroes personified in constellations - My UFO sighting

When I think of space, it's about the magical and ephemeral colors of the skybound rainbows named in numbers, ie, n44. Those ever fascinating nebulae increase my pleasure of fractals and the imaginative abstract. Exact order of chaos can be found in the night sky when city lights go dark.

The seduction of night, when earth lights hide the sins of man and glitter in ultimate fantasy, has always captured my passion. Dirt and disaster are generally not visible in the dark as lights from overhead ease the stress of day and blanket the night with perfection.

So true. Infact, there's nothing more calming and humbling than going out on a night with a clear sky, laying down on the ground and looking up.
Mesmerising.

Love your wandering thoughts.

Especially love "the seduction of night" image.

A night sky certainly takes us "out of ourselves" for a precious while.

Beautiful words, Sue. That's a great take on the prompt. I do just about anything better at night, and I'm very fond of it. I don't feel as if I had anything to hide, but the stillness of the late night hour makes life feel more like a scene from a movie, where thoughts linger quite joyfully.

Sue, Id just like to say that Ive been reading through some of your older poems and none of them fail in surprising me with the richness of words. Thank you for creating such a beautiful archive.

Lovely impressionistic view of night and space. Nebulae provide some of the most spectacular views within our galaxy, but I also love the sound of the word "nebula".

And you know how I love fractals.

Great post!

somehow this reminds me how looking into the night sky makes me feel both smaller and larger at the same time.

Almost as evocative as the night sky itself. :-)

An excellent post to reflect on the day after Earth Hour. I love what your images - both verbal and graphic - conjure up.

I really liked the "seduction of the the night" and how true.

Sue,
There is much to learn and enjoy from watching the seeming chaos in an orderly universe.
I love your fractal!

What a great post. This line is my favorite: The seduction of night, when earth lights hide the sins of man and glitter in ultimate fantasy, has always captured my passion.

Great list of words. The poet in me would make that list into free write exercise.
