I just don't get it...

The Sunday Scribblings prompt for "I just don't get it...' is perfect for this time of year when spring peeks and leaves, when political bouts rage and when deception seems the order of the day.

Thinking about this topic reminded me of people who are too lazy to learn the truth. People who forward disinformation by byte-tons and the recipients who accept it as truth. People who fail to explore facts before espousing opinions or voting. People who follow a current fad without thinking.

From there, I wandered to computer malware, hackers, phishers and scammers. How do obviously intelligent people decide the only way to make a buck is to resort to crime? Is it too much to ask that they infect each other and leave regular folks alone?

From there, I found I spend too much time shaking my head or rolling my eyes and saying...'I just don't get it.'

I concur! How many people accept what they see and hear as gospel, especially when it comes to politics or world affairs or look to only one source. You are sooooooooo right on! (I wish you weren't. I'd like to think people were less gullible than that.)

I always marvel at your fractals. How ever do you do that?
Enjoy your Easter my friend!

so true Sue! I just don't get these people either.
hey! .... Happy Easter to you!
( i like the spades, is it done the same as hearts only writing spades? haha If so there must be diamonds and clubs, no?)

Uninformed voters scare me and the media must take some of the credit.

Enjoyed your Fractal.

Happy Easter!

Well, I'm nodding my head vigorously... too true, alas. I wonder if there's a little room somewhere full of unused/stolen brains.... some corner room in the pentagon, maybe... I'm not so much an eye roller as I am a mutter/sputterer.

But the sun is out today after many gray days preceding it, so I can't be too grouchy.

Have a lovely day. Loved the fractal too.

It's amazing what a great deal of misinformation is bandied about and believed by too many people..

I love fractals and have a few I've done using the Mandelbrot "bug". I enjoy yours.

Hope you are having a happy Easter!

I love your poems but it was nice to read some prose this time. You made me think of those people too, with your comment.
Speaking of crooks, there was a tv series on bbc called Hustle, where the crooks only robbed really rich and people who "deserved it". It was still wrong but I loved watching :)

It is a little frightening how little high school students know about history, geography, and particularly government. Rather than trying to find out where the candidates stand on an issue, they go by what they have heard about them on TV, yet they never choose a serious program even. They will vote when they are 18, but most of them don't have a clue why they vote, or what difference it makes, and they hate studying these things in school.

The sad reality of our world today - some of us left in the dark who just don't get this and never will!

I so agree with those computer criminals. Sometimes you are concerned about opening your bank website!! My theory is they are making great money at some company somewhere with a great computer system and doing this all day instead!! Great post.

I love the fractal and share your thoughts. I bet Scott the Poet at Poetic Leanings does, too!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

If truth does not bear up to questioning, then it is truly truth?

Blessings,
Linda

Here's my late entry: "I just don't get it" either. ;-)

I, too, share your bewilderment, especially at what we are willing to accept as truth. As always, you're right on target, and your fractal is amazing.

yes, the apathy around being one's own person or informing beliefs is a personal annoyance! the whole blind following of tradition without any personal connection or contemplation also gets me shaking my head in disappointment! Nice post.

Something I have been studying of late is the distorted truth we each carry around in our hearts, and how we distort truth to fit our own comfort. Facinating.

Great thoughts - I have to tell you I laughed when I read your thoughts on the phishers.... I wish they WOULD infect each other - poetic justice. :D

Sue,
People who take the easier path (preceived so by them of course) are a puzzlement to me also.
They wouldn't be half as successful if we were more cynical, but thank goodness we are not, I'd rather be puzzled and duped than cynical.

yes, it's incomprehensible. I think when there was no order, there was total chaos and right now we are halfway between these two.

So true about humans across the world. We always want an easy way out and never try to find the deeper truth.

One of my biggest pet peeves is the chain emails filled with misinformation. They drive me crazy. Beautiful fractal!

my mind wonders too
how and why intelligence
is misused like this

I love your ‘fractal’ and wonder how you created it. There’s so much I don’t yet know anything about, but I love to learn.

Thanks for visiting my OSI at Sacred Ruminations. I’ve got another for this week’s prompt here: SpringSurprise and was very late with prompt #3 here: Circles
Hugs and blessings.
