Idaho Snow and Haiku

non-stop snow
deeper and whiter
winter warp

**

surrender
snow rises higher
white limbs plunge

**

leaden sky unloads
white foot and another foot
remakes the landscape

**

One Deep Breath prompt: Winter Wonders
Digital Photo January 27, 2008 before noon and the snow still falls - tree limbs crack as they drop. More than four foot on the ground.

I like all of these and so appropriate for where you live.

the first two lead in but the third one is magnificent.

The visual third poem stands out most to me as the strongest, most haiku-like:

leaden sky unloads
white foot and another foot
remakes the landscape

My thoughts, for what they are worth -- I feel that the words "white" and "and" could easily be omitted, whilst "white" could be placed after "another":

leaden sky unloads—
another white foot (or "foot of white")
remakes the landscape

Happy haikuing to you!

Winter warp makes me think of weaving and time travel!

This is lovely.

I love the first one, 'winter warp' especially. I also like the last one because it reminds me of walking in our recent (and unusual) deep snow.

Memories to be sure and only that.

Thanks for coming by. :)

I love snow, your words make it seem even more romantic! Haiku's threaded into a short story! Beautiful, as is the snow!

Oooh, I love these, particularly the last -it's a big deal here when we only get a couple inches. I feel like I can see the aftermath of foot upon foot of snow...

I know you really don't like winter that much but these truly speak "winter". Yes, pull up a chair next to the fire. You have way more snow than our area.
