Haiku ~ 3WW

red light approach
bottle-smooth black ice
deferred stop

**

smooth as mango flesh
the sommelier approaches
...one costly bottle

**

blanket-smooth landscape
approach of a new blizzard
exit bottle necked

Prompt words by 3WordWednesday: bottle, smooth, approach

i live in the bottom of a canyon,, and the black ice is rampant down here,, as we get all the run off... never thought of making a poem of it ...
after i read these 1+3 especially,,, i am so glad i am in cali, and not somewhere that gets snow......

I enjoyed these very much. Thanks for sharing.

I kept going back to "smooth as a mango's flesh" never quite thought of it that way

The third one in particular, evokes a strong image. You need wine with all the coldness and snow. Lovely similes.

having recently been in a wreck (not my fault!) that totaled my car, the black ice one gives me chills.

I think you were greatly influenced by your weather. As much as I love snow, as crazy as the snow has been for mild Western WA, I'm glad I am in Florida; thanks for reminding me. First one is my favorite. Love the picture.

Each one of these is a gem, but I loved the middle one-smooth as mango flesh. That's slippery smooth writing!
