Tamped Down Taupe for Magpie Tales

Magpie Tales offers a wonderful prompt by image on each Thursday morning. Responses are due before the following Tuesday morning. View the image at the site and read what others wrote. It's a fine trip.

Tamped Down Taupe

released from shades of gray
formed by sackcloth taupe
she sings of burning hope
sends it off to sky blue orbit

expectations sold
she cries out to the wind
dreamers' old stories
now sheer with overuse

the cocoon spat her out
with wings too wet to fly
she shuts her mouth
hums new shades of taupe

A fractal.

From the sackcloth of death to a cocoon image. Such is the circle of life.

Sue, I, a singer too, can hear the song she casts to the wind as it comes to my ear. Well done!

Very evocative, great imagery. I also liked how you didn't use any punctuation...interesting. My fave line though was
'dreamers' old stories
now sheer with overuse' Wow, beautiful!

Dear Tumblewords: Your fractals are so delicately delicious! The butterfly will be surprised to find out her true colours once she dries them out and opens them up! What colour is the butterfly's wings? Taupe is a fancy beige which is a moth colour? I guess there are taupe butterflies; upper class butterflies that is!
