Big Tent Poetry prompts the writer to pen a poem using some form of aphrodisiac.
A Virgin List
a simple string of words
tangles with ghosts
my head presses to the glass
tomorrow is overcome by past
like a box of unused notes
nouns that ramble freewithout a thought attached
out of bounds, above details
adverbs to repel failingsforget regrets and guilts
to skim beyond the true
I want to fall in love with newwith a fresh string of words
alone and all my ownOriginal digital art.

I love the sound of this, the melancholy and the desire for renewal.
A truly unique take on the topic... I like!
Hey Sue! I love this one.

I like this idea. Words and their power. I wonder.
Loved the idea of nouns rambling free.
I like the idea of free-falling with words.
There is nothing unused in this world, I think. But in my mind I am allowed to have the feeling of exploring something new. I don't care what they say: it's my virgin experience.
Best wishes
Ralf
A beautiful poem about words ... words are so important in my life. I spend my days putting them together like pieces of a puzzle!
If I could wipe the slate clean and do it all over again, words would fail me.
Ah Susan this is beautiful and I love the last stanza.

I can see that you have a love affair with writing and it shows.
That last stanza is perfect, and I can relate to that longing.
Yep -- a true lover of words. I love your poem, but I really was stricken by the art. Both worked together to form a sort of prayer in my mind. Thanks!

Hi Sue ~~ This is amusing to me. And very well written!
I think it all depends on your definition of 'VIRGIN' don't you (phrase borrowed from and ex-president)?
Is it something to be desired or more of a bucket list? Mine is mostly junk things that I will never use and really would never want. Like an old maid or a hermit in nature would relate to the unused things I keep.
You Bamboo Fence digital art is wonderful. Would you believe I could not believe I knew it to be a bamboo fence/wall correctly before I read your labels!
..
Oh, a hearty yes, yes, yes, me, too!
A delightful read!
A wish list extraordinaire!
I'm right there with you. Thank you.
So evocative. Touching and detached all at once...
adverbs to repel failings
forget regrets and guilts
to skim beyond the true
I want to fall in love with new
Nice!
what a great extended metaphor!!!
i love this. your take on the prompt was clever. i feel as though the past is falling into something new, fresh. a beginning of sorts. hope all is well.
I love what you have done here because writers have to love words; you express that feeling so well.

This is fine work. Oh, if we could only "repel failings/
forget regrets and guilts,
" wouldn't that be something?
Sorry it took me so long to get here.
Very nice use of the prompt. I really enjoyed this poem!
I like the idea of the freedom to find your own words... that work! Very well written!
The true aphrodisiac is in the unknown, the wishing for, the almost yet, the preparation for, the not quite but gratification immanent, that of a string of words that are fresh, unfettered, free, virgin. Yes!
When we fall in love we become poetry and we forget the stories of our lives, our old prose habits.
An amazing aphrodisiac poem you have written...
Good poem! I always enjoy coming here!
"an unused notepad" -- Yes!
"a box of unused notes" :D
creative!
