a simple string of words
tangles with ghosts
my head presses to the glass
tomorrow is overcome by past

i wish myself a virgin list

like a box of unused notes

nouns that ramble free
without a thought attached

verbs that let me float

out of bounds, above details

adverbs to repel failings

forget regrets and guilts

to skim beyond the true

I want to fall in love with new

with a fresh string of words

alone and all my own

N for ABC Wednesday

ABC Wednesday prompts with the letter N. Thank you, Mrs.Nesbitt!

My parents and I were fascinated by Egyptian history and the thrill of seeing the King Tut exhibit in the late 1970's was totally overwhelming.

Mom began ceramic/pottery classes shortly after that and couldn't decide on the perfect colors for her 'Nefertiti'. It stayed default white.

After Mom's death, Nefertiti came to stay with me and has had several plinths as temporary homes but love for my mother and her Nefertiti remain firmly held.
