Midnight Shift

sounds of lonesome
underscored by
menacing tones
intermittent songs
to the rising moon
he heard the howls
his neck hair rose,
quivered in the dark
the old guard whistled

This is great. Very eerie: makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
