OSI Folly Haiku

One Single Impression offers:

Thanks to Edward S. Gault of Forest River Journal for this week's prompt of folly.

I always thought of folly as a silliness or a temporary departure from rational thought but Wikipedia defines it in a slightly different fashion and one which I found rather fun.

Folly....holly, jolly....I had a hard time taking the word seriously at first, too. I also enjoyed the surprising meanings.

Thanks for these.

Sue, your poems are wonderful, I really like the first. Folly does sound like it should be fun and humorous. The watercolor is fantastic.

Sue, bet you and I are the only ones who went with this definition... Ha! :)

Love these powerful, fragmented perspectives!

Incredible, what a prompt can do for you - and in this case what you can do with it! The haiku are fine, but I really go for the watercolour.

Your watercolor is amazing, I love it! I'd like to see a larger size of your paintings, perhaps you could do that another time, to really see the detail.

I like the last best, the folly is not permanent.
Love the watercolor, Sue.

Wonderful poem, Sue. You really are a great poet.
I have been very ill spending the month of July in hospital. Still recovering.
I am afraid I am a bit rusty but your beautiful haiku's always show me the way.
Glad to read your work once more.

love, Melanie

An odd word. You've done well. No folly here!

I enjoyed each of your haiku. Interesting how great minds think alike. I went with the Wikipedia definition & illustrations at Small Reflections … and something different at Sacred Ruminations last Wednesday (I think). My OSI Week 23: Folly posts can be found here and here.

A question: How do you get the 'search link' on your blog?
Hugs and blessings,
