Xanthic - yellow, yellowish
Aha!
Breaking through gray clouds pregnant with rain, a bright xanthic orb brightens the sky and warms the shadows. A pile of shoes shed near the front door during cold and dark are now ignored in favor of rubbing sole to earth and feeling the purr.

Oh, yes, YES! Pour me a full summer, too -- and hopefully soon!! Great post for the X day! Love the colors! Enjoy your day!

Beautiful poetry. You paint a lovely bright picture and your fractal is so pretty. It would make a great notecard.
Hi Sue! here's a new word for you that I ran into today... nepenthe
Know it? I challenge you to use it in a poem! I think maybe tequila is my nepenthe...haha, Kristy
I agree - summer finally seems to be starting! Have a good rest of the week :)

I agree - if I had seen very much of it...

A hard letter to write about, but you did it!
Beautiful piece of writing, "pour me a full summer"...breathtaking idea, and one I heartily reiterate! :D
Oh how that pulled at my heart strings and made me smile.
Lovely poem.

Purr and pour - great imagery, and your fractal is awesome! Am catching up and wanted to let you know I really love your OSI haiku as well as the watercolor sketch!
That was lovely!
And now I know that the colour yellow can be an X-word!
Beautiful poetry! For once, it is actually sunny where I am now. The winters are very long and dark, dark, dark. So a lot of us here are a little crazy just because the sun is shining!
Give me a bucket of summer if you please!
Best wishes,
Anna
Anna's X-words
The xanthic orb has been wonderful here.
Love your imagery, the words pour me a full summer makes me feel quite giddy in anticipation.
Love that fractal.
We have had summer the last two days. And, here in Maine, sometimes we don't get a whole lot more than that. I only have four short sleeved shirts, and that is enough!
This was just lovely. I too noticed that so many words beginning with xan- were about yellow pigmentation.
Please pour me a tall one; it was a very long winter here.
I like that image so very much. Beautiful poem. And the purring earth! Gorgeous.
nice take ob the letter.
Happy Tuesday!
And just keep topping it up.
I wonder how many others will think of Xanthic...
Lovely fractal and nice word imagery.
Summer is being a great tease here, - present one day, fled the next. I think there must be a hole in the bucket!
Ooooo! Nice choice for "X"! Nice image too.
That last line is just brilliant.
You make Xanthic into such a beautiful word!!
Lovely poem that goes with the beautiful fractal image. Thanks for the visit and comment. This performance is not my cuppa tea either,
but if you hear it played by an Aborigene in a cave it sounds very mysterious. I have a didgeridoo made by an Aborigene artist in Hopevale. He is an uncle of my daughter's ex-husband. I can't play it for I didn't master the circular breathing.
Oh how I love summer when its xanthic orb makes everything come alive! :)
Bring it on!!! I think we would all like a good summer.
Beautiful photo imagery. On behalf of the ABC Wed. team, thanks for participating.
Lovely choice for X. The fractal image is pretty too. A
Ur words paint a nice picture!!
Hey! I recognize that word! Lovely poem to go with it. Yes, bring on the sunshine!
Pour me a full summer--absolutely a beautiful image. Wonderful word for X and enticing words
Your poem reminds me of the first days of summer when I was a kid. Even though I now prefer cool weather, you never lose those memories.
Love your image too!
Your post is more poetical than mine, for sure :-))
My photo was taken on the Golden Gate Bridge (the entrance).
Have a nice evening.
Beautiful writing - I like the sound of the word, too. Hope you have a bright and wonderful week!
Brilliant and imaginative "X" post!
wow thats a whole lot of new words for me! thank you!
I like the image those last words conjure up, "pour me a full summer"... Cheers!
That's a complicated word !!
Beautiful post :-)
Pour me one too!
I would love a straw, please, so I can sip, relax and enjoy each minute...
I so love this poem.
