Road First Traveled
deep in the forest
each turn hides
its spring surprise
a washout or
maybe a fallen tree
a bumbling moose
or a regal elk
a lumbering bear
or four-pack of atv's
our car crawls along
over rocks and ruts
while somewhere ahead
a plethora of deer
graceful as sunrise
move like the wind

There are so many roads, just waiting for us to travel on them.....

The road begs to be followed into the forest. I would have loved to walk it.
the Road is not that long, is it? We need to enjoy it while we can.

Absolutely lovely...I wish I would've had my camera with me this morning...a deer came leaping out of the woods not 10 feet in front of the stroller while I was taking my daughter for a walk. I don't know who was more surprised of the three of us! ")
A beautiful poem, Tumblewords! It describes perfectly the wonder of exploring the woods, never knowing what you might encounter around the next turn. And the same can be said for life, can't it?
