Spring Haiku for Totally Optional Prompts

Totally Optional Prompts offers: The Spring equinox (N. Hemisphere) has just passed, so it's now officially spring in the US. I declared spring a number of weeks ago, though, when we had our first balmy day. How do you mark the change into spring, or into any other season? Do the equinoxes and solstices anchor your calendar, or do you go by the weather?

pitchfork
frozen in baled hay
spring, they say

flipflops by the door
down slippers on frosty feet
lion feeds on lamb

Sometime Spring is an original watercolor by Sue.

love the haiku

the seasons seem all over the place but then they often have

Monday here was cold and strong winds all day but I had to go to the dentist so braved it.
Tuesday was lovely sunshine and I had a lovely country walk
Wednesday it was so windy we never dared go out.
This morning it was drizzling when I went out - later it poured down, then the sun came out but it was bitter cold - mid-afternoon we had hailstones and now there is a bright sun about to set and a blue sky

we seem seasonless

Nicely done. Particularly liked the old description of March in the last line.

Oh, these are so perfect for fickle spring!

I really like both of your haiku with their strong images!

And your watercolor is beautiful!

Here in North Texas winter never happened this year (except on exactly one day only). So it is good the get the feeling from this poem of actual change!

"Lion feeds on Lamb" so true. I want spring and the warmth of the sun - it can't come fast enough for me.

I don't even know where my flipflops are! Spring sure does tease, doesn't it?

These are really good, Sue/
