very successful haiku - I always feel the poem succeeds when it shows me something right under my nose that I didn't recognize. In ten words, you showed me - a still life painting. Marvellous!

Wonderfully stated, still life, maybe we could learn something from this concept as opposed to our fast paced world to today.

Still life... in what sense of the word? Total bliss.

I'd love to be able to paint the image my mind conjures at your words.

Small, but beautifully formed.

Haikus need understanding of form and structure. The 17 moras in 5-7-5 form. Of cutting kireji.

I rarely try it because of its stringent requirements.

Here at last I find a haiku as close to its Japanese form as possible.

Lovely. Really lovely.

Ahhh, now I see it. It's a Senryu. No wonder there was no reference to the season, or kigo.

Thank you for introducing different forms of Japanese poetry.

Still, your senryu was so delightful.

Wonderful dichotomous images TW, fiery/still life, reflections/still life, fragile/chimney. Beautiful.

Do not know anything about haikus, but I loved the tranquil zen feeling of your words.
