Tanka for 3WW

ThomG, moderator of 3WordWednesday, offers these words today: obey, wither, karma

stifled by karma
she tacks hard to the starboard
failing to obey
she staked future on a wish
withered her labyrinth of days

Fractal created with Apophysis.

Brief and true. How much control do we really have, in the end?

I love the tanka - love the phrase 'stifled by karma' and also the last line, that is great!

The fractal looks like two eyes staring at me:) which is amazing

science fiction meets reality - perhaps if wishes can come true, we wouldn't be bind to failure or karma

Oh, I love the doom, the stifling, tacking, failing, staking and withering! Five tragic lines packed so well with tangible hardship, not a word wasted. Delicious. As usual : )

I like the sense of tragedy here, but it's not maudlin. We simply make certain choices sometimes, seeking a way out of that stifling karma. Nice fractal, too!

isn't it all a struggle with karma! I love the rich colors in the fractal

I love the language - it's imagery and movement - beautifully paired with the fractal.
