Q for ABC Wednesday

ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 5: Qis for......Questions and answers!

fiery leaf
teases gray backdrop
winter laughs

Quintessential is a word that sings to my ear.

Quintessential fills the cracks which remain when describing a particular something. Quintessential holds the essence of that something in its most pure and concentrated form.

The photograph is, to me, Quintessential Autumn.

The blazing contrast against the monochromatic and textured background is delightful to the eyes. And your words sound like music, quintessentially beautiful.

And purely so, - beautiful fall shades for the brilliant leaf to rest on. They picture autumn perfectly.

Beautiful Sue! Much more color than my leaf. I really like: winter laughs. That is for sure...

Yummy photo! Love the shiny stones in the background of the "fiery leaf."
Terrific haiku.
I like quintessential also- the meaning and the sound.

Quintessence comes from the old Greek word meaning the "fifth" element, so this fitted very well. And the red was just right!

I think you've got the essentials of quint quite nicely there.

I love the word 'quintessential' too! It popped into my head as I contemplated 'Q' for this week, but I'm doing 'from the archives' this round and I had nothing to fit!

That photo of the red leaf is gorgeous!

I love the picture of the leaf, so contrast against the shiny pale stones!

Oh I love words also. I love how you have described this word and you are right that photograph really is quintessential autumn.

Yes, it is the quintessential photo of autumn! And a perfect haiku to go with it. I'm hoping that autumn holds out a little longer here.

The color and texture in the photo is stunning - it looks staged, but you know it's not - very quintessential! The haiku is lovely as well. Thank you for a post that was a treat to read.
