Perseids
with summer in tow
fall from sight

Hi TW, you hit a sore spot of mine with your first one. I have spent hours outside looking for those and haven't ever seen one.
Setting the alarm clock on many occasions wasn't any better.
I did see a meteorite falling just before going to bed once where I didn't think the Perseids should be.
I like your poem, those shooting stars really 'fleeted' for me. :-)

I have missed the showers, too....But your poem is enough for me. And I know those storms. We are having a summer finale and encore this week, so I especially enjoy this.

Hi Tumblewords!
I love the thunder applauding--that's fun...

'movin' on'...yes indeed.

Thanks for this thing of loveliness!

The "thunder applauding" was my favorite phrases. Both stanzas poignant images of things fleeting.

I missed the showers this August! But, I do love a good thunderstorm.
Nice work, Sue.

The thunder seems so real in this one. Immediate.
Very clever use of words.

Sue, these are so good. I have had trouble viewing the showers. I never seem to be in the right place. Some August I am going to make that my mission - to view them night after night.... and you have captured the western thunder events perfectly in tune.

It's funny but a lot of other people 'fleeting' poems have reminded me of summer in Ohio and waiting for storms to break...and than you write one. Cheers for that! Nicely done as well. :P

The fractal image is wonderful. I love the first poem. A meteor shower is certainly fleeting.

I love the persids meteor shower and have enjoyed it many times. Now that I live in the desert it is often obscured by Monsoon clouds! Go figure! Loved that haiku the best though.
