I have acquired infomania ~ an excessive devotion to accumulating facts.
As a kid, I yearned to live in a library where thousands of books were within easy reach. That desire remained and with access to the Internet, I've become my own worst enemy.
Afraid of missing something, I surf and skim, scan and seek until my eyes are red and my mind frazzled. Since no one asks, I keep filling my own mind with ideas and stuff until it resembles my closets which bulge with unnecessary stuff.
I'm not sure if there's a cure other than quitting cold turkey. Do you know?

Living in a library sounds divine!
Love the fractal image!! The center resembles the holy cross. Very interesting and informative!!
I have no cure for being addicted to gathering new ideas - it rules my life, too.
I don't think its a sickness that you need to be cured from.
You are more informed than most of us. I am sure of that.
I have the same addiction, especially since the advent of the internet. I loved the fractal with its bulging center suggestive of an over-stuffed mind.
My daughter is like that...there is even a tool online where she can simply look for any kind of information. I forget what it's called - maybe "tumbling?"

I live with a boy that collects facts, it all started with Magic School Bus. He is glued to his IPAD. There is no cure, just accept it, and share the facts mam, share the facts.
information is vital these days.
awesome i take.
I've never lived in a library but I think my living room thinks it IS one.
I suffer from a similar condition. When I was a kid I read every book in the kids section of the Longmont, Colorado library. I was so upset that they wouldn't let me check out books from the grown up section.

I am afraid not! If you are life me, you look up several things a day, and file that information away.
Don't quit! We can never stop learning!
It's so easy to slide into that state now with Google! Seems like Google knows everything! I'm sure there are worse vices.
I'm the same way. I still love libraries although research is easier on the internet.
I also look up a lot of facts on internet, mainly Google. There's even a verb "to google". I'll just google it! Instead of "I'll just look it up".
Most of my socalled knowledge is Google-knowledge.
You are right ~ there is no cure for life long learning :) As usual a most imaginative ABC Wednesday post.
I'm a librarian. Nope, you're doomed to a life of infomania, and I should know.

cold turkey is too drastic; if cutting back is not an option, just stay with the mania. I can think of worse vices.
No there is no cure. I've got a head full of obscure information, good job I work in research.
Surrounded by books sounds great. I have my own little library in My Reading Corner... No help here. ; )
Interesting!
Please come and see my ABC Wednesday post, thanks!
I loved the Library in Beauty and the Beast...
I would live in a Library.
No cure. Sorry. Or, should I say, this dilemma is INCURABLE!
There is not cure for being smart! It's imprinted in your dna ^_^ Thanks for the visit and happy Wednesday!
ABC Wed.
Ah .. it's probably infectious, you know, and I was infected at an early age too. My whole family are infomaniacs. I had no chance!
If you move into a library, can I come for a visit?
I wish we all were infomaniacs!

I'm always needing to find out new information too,
The internet doesn't help either, does it! Now I know what I have too LOL, very very true Sue.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you. Wishing you a very lucky day! G

This one strikes a chord with me. I absolutely must look it up if I don't know it--- quitting cold turkey sounds painful!!
How many new facts do you discover per day? Perhaps you could put it on a daily blog. Then it is a record for you and also others will be interested and informed as well. I had to look up Wabi Sabi from your poem.
My dad said that when you stop learning, you start growing old. He was a kid til the day he died, and I live the same way! Congrats on a nice take on the prompt.
Peace, Amy BL
