E for ABC Wednesday

ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 7: E is for Encouragement!

Energy-free

An early wet, wet and wetter spring lasted well into summer and seems to have extinguished my energy source. I've resorted to moving slowly, carrying a book, and wearing a hat. Slothing from one chair to the next is now my preferred exercise.

Summer, my favorite season, can't last too long but I'm looking for a little heat break before the tomatoes bake on the vine.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining, it's just that... Has it been unusually hot, hot, hot where you are?

Original watercolor.

I do understand about energy sapping heat, but fortunately for me I live in Seattle where that is rarely if ever a problem! We haven't gotten out of the 80s yet! Love the watercolor! Delightful colors! Stay cool and have a great week!

Summer in the UK has been very disappointing this year. Not much at all.

Right now it's been a bit soggy and cool in the UK. We'll share your heatwave if it'll help. My tomatoes look like they'll stay green!

I am with you in encouraging the approach of autumn, - 35C here right now, - will likely reach 40C before the day is out. I am ambivalent about air conditioning but love it with a passion these days.

Funny. My son and I were just talking about that this afternoon-how it seemed so hot that no one has the energy to do anything.
Love the watercolor.

We've had an exceptionally cool (for our area) this summer. The Delta breeze has kept the temps at mid 80's to low 90's. Usually August has many triple digit days.
I love your description of slothing around. I seem to be doing that with no real excuse.

Hi Tumblewords, it has been hot here in Humble Texas as well. I am looking forward to the fall. :-)

Been a cool summer here in San Diego, but the weatherman says it's gonna warm up this week (I've heard that b4!)

Watercolor is my passion....this is very lovely.

Very enchanting watercolor!

Here in the Philippines, last summer was a bummer. It was so hot that a lot of people were energy-less. It's supposed to be the rainy season, yet it's still very hot in the afternoon. :(

My energy is totally zapped by the heat and I long for winter. I have a lot more energy in cold weather than I do in the heat. Wonderful watercolor.

We've already moved into fallish coolness in the evenings and overnight in New England. July was a scorcher and some days this month have been harsh. Biggest issue is lack of rain. Brown all around.

I love the vibrancy of that watercolor. Hope you get some energy back soon.

We had a hot spell (for UK)when ponds dried up and the garden dehydrated. Then we had deluges which refilled the ponds and drowned the garden. Now it's alternately drizzly-mizzly and sunny. I prefer it not to be hot.

Not only in the UK but also in the Netherlands we have had wet, cold and unbalanced weather. Your watercolour is excellent! And theway you describe your heatwave is very expressive.

Last week, it was steamy and hot here in Iowa, but this week it has cooled down a bit. We even had a bit of rain yesterday.

Your painting is lovely, or should I say Exquisite?

happy ABC Wed.

It's been unusually wet and cold. I'm in central MT. Moving from chair to chair with a book is a noble endeavor. ;)

We've had our unusually hot weeks, but right now it's back to the usual mixed weather for August. Some heat, especially in the afternoons, some cloud, and tomorrow they're predicting heavy hailstorms!

Love the picture of you 'slothing from chair to chair'. I do the same!

Does upper 90s with a heat index at 110 count for making energy-free days?! BTW, your watercolor is simply gorgeous.

Bet the tomatoes are loving it. Weird weather at the moment all over the planet. We are having three types of weather all in one day here in the UK at the moment.

Same here, Sue.
First too wet, then to hot, and now too dry. My garden is awful this year.

I don't know if this will cheer you, but fall is just around the corner.

we have it 6months of the year!
love the watercolor!

It's hot all year long here, with some respite by the heat by occasional rain. But I'm not complaining.

We must have had the same weather as you have. All the energy went into the dams of the hydroelectric power plants.

Gattina said...

Don't complain about too hot !! after a short heat wave we have an unusually cold August !

ChrisJ said...

No...No...No... We have been dying for a bit of heat here. Being on the coast we are usually cooler than inland but some have been saying they have turned the furnace on to take the chill off the house! In August! It has started warming up this week -- but for how long....?
That is a very nice water color. Nice shades and shapes.
