Z for ABC Wednesday

ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 6: Z is for Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I have a new favorite word but I haven't found a place to use it. Zenzizenzizenzic according to Wikipedia is here  In fact, I'm trying to learn to spell it.  It sizzles on my tongue, quivers against my teeth and zests up my cheeks.

The meaning is simple: a number to its 8th power. It's age is ancient. So old, in fact, it is an oddity of the language. And, without a doubt, it has more z's than any other word.

Don't you just love it?   Zenzizenzizenzic     Zenzizenzizenzic     Zenzizenzizenzic

I think Z is underrated. A great letter, all the way at the end of the alphabet. LOVE the artwork Sue, fabulous!

Cool word, but it has to do with math, which I detest. Mostly cause I am terrible at it!!! But a great post for Z ... Have a good rest of the week :)

Love the picture of the Z. It has plenty of zip and zing.
Now that's a word that I don't think I will ever use. Fascinating.

Now that is a good word. A rhyming poem in itself.

I wonder if the word has ever been used in a Spelling Bee! Good find.

Wow. I wish I had known that word when I did my 8x8x8 art show in August 8, 2008!

Your image is 'z'ensational!
Z is my favorite letter...my last name starts with Z and ends with 'ic' - sort of like your new word. I wonder if anyone had heard of it before. Very fun!

It certainly does sizzles, quivers and zests! It's certainly a supercalifragilisticexpalidocious word! I bet it could also be used to describe the amount of our national debt. :-O

what a wonderful word and just think of the Scrabble score - if only there were enough Zs in a scrabble set!

It sounds like a word used in casting spells. I always think higher mathematics is a bit like magic. The expression "popular mathematics book" in the Wiki is not a combination of words I've seen before, LOL. Love the neon Z.

It's a beautiful word, spoiled only by the fact that it is about MATHS! Maths and I do not get along. LOL!

Carol said...

It certainly does siZZle like water poured into a hot skillet. Or bacon frying on high heat. It also spits like an iron when you first push "Steam". But spelling it? Using it? I think not.

I love that illustrated Z and I love the word - zenzizenzizenzic; it rolls off the tongue in a sensuous kind of way. Fabulous! I always like learning new words so thank you :-)

The word is missing from my large dictionary so is completely new to me.

Ah the things we discover.

It is also done by Zorro's sword? I am a teacher, but you won't get me trying to pronounce it .

My son is learning German, and he has no problem saying this words. In fact he said it so many times.
