Saturday Night for Magpie Tales

Magpie Tales offers an image prompt each week. Please visit the site to view the picture and to read what others have written!

Saturday Night

a sheet of rain
one taste
of thunder

bleak as a silent bed
the future
spreads its wings

borne by dream
and cloud-spun fancy
loops at middle night

skipping spaces
to that patient past
clad in a sheet of rain

Okay you're making me wish I lived in a place where I got thunder storms and summer rain.

Lovely.

Wonderful Magpie. I especially liked

"bleak as a silent bed
the future
spreads its wings"

I also love your moniker. Tumbleword, like traveling a tumbleweed going places with the wind, where no others will. Listening to dreams whispered on the breeze.

Lovely piece. particularly liked the last line - lovely connection to the prompt.

Unique interpretation... a pleasant surprise.

Makes me want to sleep in the rain. Pity I'm in a desert! ;)

When you said, "patient past," that seems so right! Thank you.

Dear TW: Simply conveyed with much drama and poignant words. "cloud-spun fancy loops at middle night" reminds me of Olde English writing. Refreshing rain! Thank-you!

wonderful words. "a sheet of rain" isn't that very abstract?
