B for ABC Wednesday

ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 7: B is for Brilliant!

Barefoot Bride

It never occurred to me that she could wear a made-to-order gown and bare feet to her wedding on a beautiful beach in Hawaii. She did.

Although I wasn't there, I'm loving the beautiful pictures that were forwarded by those fortunate enough to walk with the barefoot bride and bridegroom. The beaming groom wore his flip-flops. :)

Have you known anyone who wore bare feet with her wedding gown?

What a fun post for the day! I love it! And I love being barefoot on the beach -- with or without a wedding dress! Have a great day!

I think it sounds wonderful. I wore Cinderella slippers when I got married. I love anything Cinderella.

Sue, you must remember all those hippy weddings. Seriously, I'll bet lots of people do, when they marry on the beach.

What a lovely dress. And she looks beautiful!

Excellent! Do you know this barefoot bride? I do know of a barefoot bride, but her wedding was not on the beach.

It looks lovely, and you could go for a paddle afterwards:-) Heels and sand definitely do not go together.

What a beautiful and brilliant barefoot bride. I love the idea of going barefoot on the beach for an outdoor wedding. I think I wore sandals with my wedding dress but it never would have occurred to me to go barefoot. Great idea.

How very impressive indeed. Somehow felt very honest to walk bare foot - yet getting married in North Germany during winter made it a bit difficult for me ;) Please have a great Wednesday.

Beautiful bride, and sensible. Imagine trying to maintain your balance in heels on a sandy beach.
Best Wishes indeed to the young couple!

I would love to be a barefoot bride, but haven't known anyone yet. The gown is beautiful like it. Thanks for the visit I do appreciate it!

I've never seen a barefoot bride, but the surroundings certainly dictate that fashion nuance! Do you know her?

Also, thanks Sue for visiting and commenting on my "b."

The picture is lovely and....

Oh yes! Our youngest daughter, who was in a terrible accident when she was 18 was left with a very bad leg and limp. She said I don't want to limp down a aisle when I get married, so she was married by a pond, and her brother rowed her in a canoe to the place by the shore, where she stepped out, barefooted in her beautiful gown, to join her husband to be and guests on the shore. It was lovely.

Lovely bride, - I have a niece who was married in Hawaii, - also barefoot. It looked like such a happy occasion...

I actually do know someone who was married on a secluded beach on the Big Island and was barefoot! No sore feet from wearing heels! (your crow/raven story had me wincing when I read your comment on my blog. YIKES! I would have been petrified!)

How lovely! A perfect sensation on a sensational day, the feel of sand between the toes, the smell of the sea, a beautiful dress and the man of her dreams . . .

I was only reading the other day about a bride wearing wellies! lol! Being involved in the wedding industry I would say barefoot on the beach was absolutely spot on!

Great post for ABC Wednesday.

It's a lovely photo and a great idea to marry on the beach, although I don't know if this couple did.
My daughter married on the beach with her first husband.

Wow, that's a romantic wedding on the beach in Hawaii, how special is that for the couple. Nice entry for B day.

I can't think it would have been appropriate any other way. Sand and formal footwear just don't seem to go together. ;-)

Wedding on a beach, any beach, just cries for barefeet, or flip-flops at the most. I love shoes, but I hate wearing them.

jay said...

Oh, that looks just wonderful!! No, I didn't have bare feet, but I would have liked to! I spent a lot of time with no shoes on in those days, but Mum would have had a fit!

Plus, it was October in England. Not so pleasant a prospect as a beach in Hawaii!

What a lovely site you have and you chose a perfect picture and story for "B" thank you :)

Beautiful photo. No I haven't known someone who did that, but almost, because the minister who married my sis years ago back in 1971 I believe, was barefoot. It was kind of a hippy wedding.

She looks totally happy and I bet her feet feel emancipated. I don't know anyone who went that route.

I have, but here in So. Cal. pretty well anything goes! The dress is beautiful -- as is the bride --and barefoot sounds very fitting. Thanks for visiting my blog so often.

I was a barefoot bride, six years ago last Saturday(on a blue moon!). Len and I got married on the banks of the Missouri River. Flowers in my hair, grass between my toes... :)

Your bride is beautiful and beaming. ~Brenda
