Slush Pile
a double take of green
comes hopping, hopping
down the blooming path
red one-gallon crowns
hacksawed from other frogs
clatter loosely at each leap
these praying princes patter
over freshly frosted eggshells
and in one footlocker croak
beg the queen's own agent
to nail down a healthy deal
and pub their lubricious fiction
she fakes a grin, rolls her eyes
and mutters via common natter
nobody'd buy your kissing tale

Good work!
That was excellent, as always.
Nice poem, it is fun to read.
It made me realize I missed the word "frog" though.

How do I make my left brain turn tight so I can write poems and teach them too?
I am teaching my 8 year olds about the brain, and later write poems. Not something I am looking forward to.
Oh frabjous day callooh callay
she chortled in her joy
full of mimsy and whimsy...fun!
The momeraths & borogroves thank you for the frolic down memory lane--great fun!
fun poem with a tough set of words - nice!
"comes hopping, hopping down the blooming path" I love that! Nice work Susan.

I'm with rallentanda on this! Great fun!
Love the "one footlocker croak."
I love the first and last line! All the ones in between are good too, but those two especially. ^_^
That makes me smile. Very creative.
Best wishes

It has a nice ring to it. Not really being talented in poetry myself, I m not so sure what it really means! Anything I write always manges to sound like a nursery rhyme.
I think I will try this tomorrow. It looks like so much fun. Remember the time the prompt was "conspinky". I can't remember where. But the nonsense that came out of that prompt was dazzling!
I loved this poem...it just rolled over my right brain causing sparks everywhere. Grin!!!

The alliteration and sassy word combinations make this poem dance!Wish I could let go of my literal mind and tap into some quirkiness. My brain is tickled!
It seems the frog lead us both down the twisted fairy tale path. I love the imagery and sounds, especially in the third stanza.
Very nice! The last stanza is especially delightful.
