Three Things

Skittles at Heads or Tails posts this prompt: Tell three things you learned in 2008.

Admittedly, 2008 was one of my least favorite recent years. I allowed the political machine to steal my humor, cause a lot of knee jerk reactions and, even worse, let it force me to use a plethora of not so nice words.

Almost everything I thought I learned has come up for double scrutiny and may need to be relearned with different rules, as in: nothing's learned forever. Sigh.

Three things I learned:

Summer is too short.
Family always comes to the rescue.
Pneumonia has no redeeming qualities.

**
If you've ever wondered what you'd see as you drove though an automatic carwash, look closely for soap bubbles in the photo above. :)

Summer really is far too short and I hope that I never have to learn about pneumonia first hand! Happy HOT day! I always love the images you choose to go along with the posts Very creative :)

I like Summer if the A/C is on.. or a nice breeze outside.

Yes, they almost always do!

No, I can't think of anything good about it either. ;)

Thanks for playing!!!! Your posts are always so interesting.

I thought of a few words about much western politics myself ;-)
Illness is never nice. Here's hoping this year is better for you all round.

Summer is way too short for me. I like the closeup of the soap bubble!

Summer is WAY too short and that's an understatement. ESPECIALLY when it comes to my Summer of 2008, in which it didn't go 72 hours without raining... My Summer washed away with the floods!

You are right about family, and I miss mine like mad.

Thank goodness I've never had Pneumonia, but I got to take care of Hubs while he had it.

I agree with all 3!

I like your list! This was the first year I really paid attention to the politics of the candidates. I thought if I was informed I could make an informed decision. I was only more confused! LOL Here's to a great 2009.

Summer is too short! Sorry about the pneumonia.

I'm interested in how you turn your blog into an e-book. Sounds interesting.

I wish I'd had time to participate this week ... and maybe I'll do it belatedly tomorrow or the next day? Methinks reexamination of what we think we know for sure is often an excellent idea. Getting swept off our center in the heat of 'external stuph' happens to us all. The challenge remains to regain balance.
Hugs and blessings,

There's no disputing your #3. I'm not crazy about hot weather, one of my sisters flounders so much herself I don't think she could come to the rescue, But pneumonia -- can't disagree with you at ALL on that one!
