Wow, Sue, not only are your ku gorgeous and warming, but that watercolor is even better. I feel all toasty warm right now. Thank you.
I like the third one, it gives off a warm feeling, like it's still summer
"whispering birch grove
gossips over pink petals
buzz of summer song"
I like this one the best ... the image of bees talking to each other ... a summer day indeed, can't wait for the honey!
Sue, your watecolors are wonderful. That one is a poem all in itself.
All three are lovely, but since I am a tree lover, I can relate to the first two best.
Those gossiping birches tickled me, too. I think because I was in the woods yesterday and there was a breeze and they were chattering away!
I love the way aspens stir--with deep-rooted dignity.
Very vivid - especially the summer buzz. I'm anxious to hear it again!
beautiful images...!
Ah! they made me feel good. It will be here soon.
I love the imagery... very nicely done.
Beautiful and I love your watercolor!

A wonderful evocation of summer. My favourite is the first with the rootedness and the movement in the breeze.
I love your series and keep meaning to try just one too; my creative bursts aren't quite as sustained though. I have to give poetry love to the moon though ;-)
Lovely as these haikus are, it is the painting that enchants me. I can never get over how deceptively simple a watercolor looks. I sit down with paint and brush, and this is never the result. This is so beautiful and so compliments the haikus.
Beautiful, love them all, especially the last one.
I love all of them. The poached moon is particularly wonderful. As is your watercolor woods.
I'm with Annie--
I love that watercolor. Sue, you're so multi-talented! Thanks for sharing your gifts with the world...and I'm so glad to have found you!
Awesome painting and haiku!

I wrote a comment, but not sure it 'took'!
I'm with Annie--love these haiku, but it's your watercolor that took my breath!
Thanks for sharing your gifts with the world--and I'm so glad I found you!
I have a soft spot for watercolors. This is so beautiful. And the words go perfectly and yet both stand alone. Thank you for the soft spot of sun in my day.
Loved the watercolour and the first haiku.
These are all lovely! I love the play on words in the first, and I love the idea of whispering birch gossip! Delicious!
.."summer's moon
poached by rain and heat
spills warm light"..very pretty & poetic..many thanks..
my favorite is the 2nd. i just love "whispering birch grove/gossips over pink petals"!!
Ahhh, those gossiping birches! The images in both the watercolor and haiku are lovely - they made me smile! Thanks!
Love the whispering birch gossiping over the pink petals... totally delightful!!! Reminds me of idle, lazy summer days.
Good to get a bit of summer at this time! Particularly liked the 'poached' verse.
beautiful watercolors and delicate words paint pictures too
Hi Sue, I surely do like your water colors. Of course I am jealous, I can't do things like that. I just am a 'looker' and admirer.
And I always did like those gossiping birches. I wonder what they talk about. Perhaps the pink flowers get them going.
