ABC Wednesday offers B in Round 4.
Honey, I'm Home won an Editor's Pick award on Better Photo.
The nest was on the underside of the picnic table when a guest knocked it loose and tossed it into the bushes. The buzzing grew loud so I told her to go get it ~ never thinking she would but she hurried over, returned with the nest and placed it on the table top where the bees swarmed it. We moved to another area.

I shouldn't ask ``What's the buzz''!!!
Thanks for the visit and comment.
I also enjoyed your Baby's Plea post, too.
I'm glad no one was stung!
I've always had a fear of bees, although I've only been stun twice in my thirty-something years, and it didn't hurt all that much!
I've recently learned that our bee populations are at risk and how the work they do effects so many of the foods we eat and flowers we enjoy. We'd miss so many things without them! I will never kill a bee ever again, and I hope others will learn more about how important they are to our lives. SAVE THE BEES!
Great photo..I think it is a paper wasp...
Scary, but great pic.
That deserved more than an editors pick - just the title was a winner in connection with the picture.- I'm envious...
Great photo, no wonder it won an award !
I'm a bit afraid of bees ... but they are wonderful to look at.
Great photo indeed, I agree with ramblingswoods, its a wasp (but who cares, still a great shot and you could use it again when the W comes up :-))
In summer we can hear them gnawing and chewing the wood of our garden chairs or gates and with that pulp they build their nest. Clever things!
Lovely story, lovely picture.
I love the profile shot of the bee and the and the diagonal stripes of the siding.
This made me smile but at the same time I do have to say if I had of been there I would have been in deep trouble beause I am highly allergic to bee stings.
Beautiful photo and original choice !
Beautiful Buzzzzzing Bee...
A perfect B word! I had thought of using a bee photo, too--I have several on my flowers taken this past summer. I agree with Michelle; I've learned that bees are our friends and so necessary to maintain life. I've learned to co-exist with them in my garden, and I've never been stung!
I think too its a wasp. Timely caught, hopefully it didnt stung anyone! Thanks for the comment and do enjoy your day! :)
I can see why it was the editor's pick. Love the composition.
That's a gorgeous photo - but it's a wasp, not a bee!
They still buzz though! :D
such a delicate photo...I love the lines on the table... the shapes on the hive... and then the lines on the bee...
Like it. Hope you didn't get stung catching that one.
What a great photo of the B! Happy B to you...
I just love your photo :) Great B-post :)
Awesome view that we don't usually see. Thanks for sharing.
What a silly guest! Fabulous photo!
I love both the photo and the title! =o)
as good of reason to pick a new table as I've seen.
Fascinating story. I love your photo!
I'm also here on behalf of the ABC Team to thank you for posting.
I enjoyed this.......
Awesome photo...so many contrasts.
That's a killer bee..
I must run now.. ;)
Great picture, its actually a paper wasp, but still an excellent post.
I was stung by a bunch of bees (or possibly wasps) as a kid. They're nice to look at, but I stay away...
I love how you framed the picture
What a marvellous construction and so well photographed. I never have my camera handy at moments like that :)
Bee-autiful shot, even if it's a wasp. Still, I bet it was buzzing a lot!
Thanks for visiting over at my place last week :)
