Telltale Signs

The Totally Optional Prompt challenge this week is to write a poem about 'Time to Leave'.

tell tale signs

yellowed leaves
jaundiced skin
sun brushed horizon
flesh draped knees
vees of wings on the go
dreams foreshorten
seeds fall in the dark and
forty winks pilfer time
fall catalogs cluster
images of youth and beauty
day gives way to night
he fights to stand erect

I like the way you've interleaved autumn with human ageing

You just said in 46 words, what nature takes most of the year preparing for, and a process that last weeks itself. Amazing.

You give ageing a beauty all its own.

Oh, that last line!

I love all these images. This is one of my favorites of yours!

More beautiful images on how life moves on. Nice job. Have a nice day.

I read these lines as separate poems and was as satisfied reading it as one complete poem.
