To concoct this simple recipe:
one whiner
and
one enabler
I complained mildly about an area of my yard that heats to boiling and doesn't retain water. Each year I plant any number of options and meet failure each time.
In the early summer, my younger daughter brought multiple pony packs of tiny hens and with a little encouragement, she even planted these succulents before she left that day.
Last week, I noticed they were still alive and decided to bring a pot of them inside to see what will happen next. Imagine my surprise when I found a couple of tiny new chicks.
This may be the highlight of my recipes ~ don't expect a cookbook any time soon!

My father used to have those in his garden. I haven't seen them in a long time. Thank you for the memory! :o)

I thought of buying hen & chickens recently. I will sometime or other here....I did buy other cacti. :-)
I will have to post a picture on my blog at some point...Husband has given his cacti names (because I asked him what their names were). :-)

I've never understood this gardening thing. I've moved so often that I've never really had chance to develop one properly.
The problem with mine at present is it won't stop growing. And it has its own idea of what it grows.
It just won't do as it's told ;-)

huh? Those are hens? I am SO confused! I don't cook, I don't garden. It's like a foreign language here for me!! sniff
Looks yummy, your new recipe. Not for large holiday gatherings, though, but probably great to serve to a bridge foursome!
This whiner got a daughter enabler to help plant succulents in containers for the hot deck. It's been the most successful container beauty we've had on that deck in years! There are babies, now, too, so I hope their propagation lasts through the winter and continues next hot, Sue-weather, season! Your recipe works for me!
